Another Color Challenge at Play Date Cafe.....and a New Challenge

As always I was completely inspired by the wonderful Lin at Sending Hugs. You can't visit her blog without being so blessed by her creative genius. Well I was completely stumped by the Play Date Cafe Challenge #42 colors this week, but after my visit to Lin's blog I started looking at the colors a bit differently. And following her lead, I'm joining the inaugural challenge of CASE Study also. As a fan of the wonderful Carole Kisch, who just happens to be on the Design Team, I had to give it a try.
So here's the PDCC color inspiration.........
and here's my interpretation of them.......
I guess I was inspired by the camels to depict a mode of transportation, one better suited to the neighborhood where I live. I really do like this color scheme with a green that has a bit more life to it. These papers from the Que Sera collection by K&Company really helped to find the right shades to use. As for the CASE Study challenge, I think this is a loose take on the inspiration. I had some fun with the ruffled paper instead of a ribbon bow. Anyway there you have it, I'll be looking to both of these wonderful challenge blogs for inspiration in the coming weeks and months. Thanks to the designers at both Play Date Cafe and CASE Study for keeping the challenges and creativity coming! And a special thanks to my friend Lin and her amazing talent!

Here is my paraphrase of James 5:8 "Be patient (as a farmer patiently waits for his crops to grow). Establish your heart- be brave and courageous. Work to further God's kingdom (be an asset in spreading the gospel) for Christ is coming back soon (live with this certainty as my hope for the future).
Blessings!

  6. You are NOT going to believe this, but when I looked at that picture for the PDCC, I did not see those camels! I saw the chairs, but I thought they were all lined up at a beach or something! I'm giggling now because it's so obvious, but it wasn't to me at the time.
Love your take on both of these challenges, Nancy! That bicycle is such a happy image, and your ruffled paper is a nice touch. Thanks, my friend, for the sweet words.

  8. Nancy, what a sweet card! I love that old fashioned bicycle and how you 'antiqued' the panel...meshes right along with your theme. And I love that paper ribbon treatment, it's great because it matches exactly with your dp (maybe because it's the same paper? lol) Super fine work, thanks so much for joining us at CASE Study this week and we'd love to have you play along with us again!

  14. Wonderful cards (as allways) since my last visit to your blog Nancy. I haven´t been in the mood for card making since I came back from holiday hope it will come back to me ;0) It has been hard starting job after 4 weeks break and when I come home I just enjoy the sun and visit my friends. So for now I just enjoy my blogfriends creations!
