Thinking of You Cards

I just realized I posted these to Flickr but didn't post them to my blog so here's just a quick share.....
All three are made using Hero Arts stamps for their August Challenge of "Keeping in Touch".

I saw a card on the web today that was the spitting image of the above card...my first thought was, "Hey, that's mine!" It didn't include an "inspired by" disclaimer and I wanted to say something, but thought better of it. I really admire this lady and believe her card making abilities to be superior to mine.
While making this card I really agonized over it...it was the one to be featured on the Hero Arts blog and I wanted nothing short of perfection. The first two cards above were my initial attempts, and although I really like how they turned out I didn't think they had the Wow factor that the Kraft and Black on White one has.
So anyway today I'm learning a lesson in humility and realizing that once I put something out there, it's no longer mine.

Here's my verse for today: Romans 12:2 ~ "Be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will God."
Blessings to you,
nancy

  1. The three of these cards are so beautiful! Love them all! And I also think it was very nice of you to not say anything. You are a better person than I am, Nancy because I probably would have sent a little message! Hugs, my friend!

  2. Yes, that's true, but I would still write that person a kind note and point out the fact that yours appeared first, and especially if she's a Flickr lady, that she should give you a mention. I'll do it for you :)

  3. Beautiful, beautiful cards, Nancy!!! I've had the same thing happen... where I've made something and had it totally copied (or at least a technique that I had *just* done and no one else had used... thinking of one card in particular). I was bothered too but didn't say anything. I tried to be flattered by the fact that my card had inspired someone else to do the same thing... Hugs!

  4. LOVE all the three beautiful cards! I actually like the first one as the colors are just gorgeous on kraft cs! I (almost) can understand how you feel.I would be a little "miffed", too! But you know, that's the nature of these things...At least you know that you've got "noticed" ;)

  12. These are all gorgeous cards Nancy! Wonderful designs, colours and details!

I know exactly how you feel as the same thing happened to me a while ago. A card was posted that was exactly the same in every way as one I had made back in February except for a slight change in stamps. I couldn't believe it but just let it go at the time. I still don't know if that was the right thing to do but I just put it out of my mind, got on with it and forgot about it until you mentioned your card. Hopefully whatever you decide to do will be the right thing for you :)

  13. Gorgeous cards! I remember how I fell in love with the really light pastel one - the first card - just so supple and soft, very feminine!

  14. I'm so sorry that someone 'stole' your design! I agree with the person who suggested you send 'a little note' to the person...if only to allow her to ask forgiveness. Then again..... she might not be that type! ;-) Your attitude is a model of Christian behavior, which is good for all of us.
