Just a quick Saturday card share

I have been working on some special projects in the last few weeks that I hope to share with you all in the next week or so, but it hasn't left me much time for some creative play.

I thought I would share this card that I made a week or so ago. I love this Penny Black set and I'm using it to make a whole lot of birthday cards, but I just wanted to make something FUN this time out!

I thought this would be appropriate to post on this last day of June.
Hoping you all enjoy the ride through the rest of this summer.
Maybe even have a driving along the ocean in a convertible moment or two along the way.

Here are links to all the products I used for this card, I used various colors of Copic Sketch markers, what is listed below is only representative.

Dusting off some under-used stamps

A while ago A Blog Named Hero challenged us to dust off our less used stamps and give them some inky love.  I had so much fun playing with my older Hero Arts sunflower and harlequin stamps, I was pretty pleased with the resulting card too! I posted about it HERE.

Well this challenge got me thinking about sets of stamps that have been unfairly neglected. So I made a card using an older Papertrey Ink set with inspiration from Lin (and PTI).

The flower stamps are from Beautiful Blooms II and the sentiment is from Signature Greetings. I used the coordinating Beautiful Blooms die to create the flower embellie. I combined the older stamps with Hero Hues Chalk inks in Poppy, Punch and Splash...I love the clean primary color palette.

This is birthday card #1 of 10 that I'm making for my sister. She's leading a summer Bible Study and ordered birthday cards for the women in the group. I'm still debating whether it needs bling, what do you think?

Here's another card that I did for the recent 90 Minute Scramble using the same masking technique.

Happy Heart Wisdom #3

I meant for this to be posted yesterday but the beautiful weather was calling.....Al and I loaded up the dogs and headed to Huntington Beach. We met up with Andy and Kellie and Uriah for a lovely walk along the beach. It was the perfect way to enjoy a perfect day!
Unfortunately, I forgot my camera and the people with phones fell down on their picture taking job so I have no pictures to share just really good memories. :)

I just can't get enough of the Summer Fresh collection so I used it for this week's Happy Heart Wisdom

This passage means so much to me. The Word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything He does.  I think about all the times when my faith has been tested by circumstances and uncertainty. God has always been there for me. In my experience my faith in God has never been in vain. We are being tested now. We've jumped into the world of the self-employed after many years of steady paychecks. We are "working without a net" as we like to say.

Looking back I realize that every time we have taken that first step of faith to follow His lead, even if it feels like that first step is taking us right off the edge of the cliff, God has been there to catch us. We have been blessed over the years when we have made the hard financial decisions, the ones that sometimes make no sense to others: the job changes, our decision to have me stay home with our sons, years later leaving my job so we could be foster parents for our nieces. None of these decisions came at a good time financially, but they were in God's timing and we always ended up in a better place than we were before.

I know I can trust God because He wants what is for my good. His unfailing love fills the earth, it surrounds me and reminds me that He can be trusted. He has never let me down before; I know He won't let me down now.

My prayer is that you will know the unfailing love of God, that you will know and trust in Him!

What's on my wish list...

I was a bit overwhelmed this past week and unfortunately I didn't get to make the cards with last Sunday's preview stamps :(  I've been working on a special project that I'm really excited about and I'm hoping to share it with you in the next week or so.

I will still be using the stamps I previewed last Sunday and I'll have those cards later this week. So instead of sharing another preview I thought I would give you a peek at what I have in cart and on my wish list at Simon Says Stamp. I've been saving my nickels and dimes so I can add some new items to my quickly diminishing stash of supplies and fun stuff.

Does anybody have some ideas for using these items...please do share them in the comments. Thanks, I'll take all the inspiration I can get. And I just may send a little something to a random commenter who supplies a fabulous idea.
Make sure I can contact you through blogger.

I couldn't leave you without sharing a little something I made last week. I just love the look of hexagons but I don't have a punch or die so I made my own Hexagon template in Publisher and printed it on heavy cardstock.  My Summer Hello card is made from scraps and it measures 3x4".

I'll be back Monday with a new Happy Heart Wisdom

Just a quick card share today...

I was playing with some Lawn Fawn stamps to see if I could come up with something new. I love the Cruising through Life set and decided to pair the bicycle with the photo frame from Say Cheese. I kept it simple and added a little border stamping with the flowers from Cruising.

For some reason I had a really hard time getting a good photo of this card, not sure why but it looks much better IRL.
