A Quick Look Back

The past year has been filled lots of happy times and more than a few highlights:

  • Year of travel: Chicago for CHA in July, Minnesota for Scrapfest in September and a Hawaiian vacation in Kona in November
  • Meeting a whole bunch of my interweb friends at Scrapfest and CHA!!!
  • Teaching classes at Stamp Fever
  • Working with Kelly and Mike at Lawn Fawn
  • And the best of all...seeing my little grandson, Uriah, grow and learn and discover!

Christmas Round Up

Here's some of my Christmas craftiness that hasn't been shared yet:

Decoration and tags for the Christmas packages

Brown paper packages, tied up with string?

Inside the packages, 3x3 canvas ornaments. Two ornaments have photos of my sister Donna's grandchildren, Gavin and Reece; the top one is for her, and the blue one is for their parents, my nephew Chris and his sweet wife Lauren. And of course the red one is my Uriah for Andy and Kellie!

I'll leave you with some photos of my family Christmas.

Pop-pop reading a story with Uriah. The perfect way to end a perfect Christmas!

I'm working on my Favorites of 2012 for my New Year's Eve post, now I'm off to Stamp Fever to do some Lawn Fawn Make 'n Takes.

Christmas Blessings to You!

One of my favorite Christmas songs is by 4Him, "A Strange Way to Save the World". It's from my all-time favorite Christmas album, "The Season of Love" from 1993.

The reality is that the world needs to be saved and though God's plan seems strange to us it is perfect!

James 1:17
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Wishing you a blessed Christmas and the greatest gift of all, salvation through Jesus Christ!

A Furry Christmas Card

As you may know if you visit here often, I've become very well acquainted with our new veterinary hospital this past year. We've weathered some major situations with our fur babies and way too many minor annoyances. Through it all the kind people at Orange Veterinary Hospital have cared for us along with Digby and Tia. I wanted to do something nice to thank the doctors and staff for helping us through a very stressful year. I'm stopping by there today to pick up some Trifexis for Digby and I'll be dropping off this little card.

I knew I had to have this adorable stamp from Simon Says Stamp and it's the perfect centerpiece of my festive card. It's called Furry Christmas appropriately and it was designed by Kristina Werner. The only way it could be better if it included a cute little Chihuahua.

I used lots of scraps from my basket to paper-piece the fun image and then anchored everything on some Fa-La-La paper from Lawn Fawn. I used the "be merry" sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Pa Rum Pa Pa Pum set and tied it all up with Peppermint Lawn Trimmings.

I wanted to add some dimension so I used Black Enamel Accents on the noses and eyes and White Enamel Accents on the hat. Glossy Accents and Star Dust Stickles added even more shine and sparkle.

Thanks so much to everyone at Orange Veterinary Hospital!

Fun with Dies

I was at Stamp Fever yesterday to teach my class (I had a blast, it was such a fun group!). I saw a sample card that my fellow DT member Kathy had made using Memory Box dies and I was totally inspired. I took some time today to play a bit.

All the paper came from my scrap bins, it feels good to use them up. Thanks for the inspiration, Kathy!

Just a Quick Post Today

It's that time of year when things get busy in the craft industry and I've been putting in some extra hours at Lawn Fawn HQ lately. So that means that the happy heart studio hasn't seen much craftiness lately.

I did make a Christmas card a while back that I didn't post because I wasn't sure I liked it. I don't normally use much glitter but it was a cold day and I thought I would make it look like heavy snow fall on the card. You be the judge....

I used the Fa-La-La Petite paper pack and Let it Snow stamp set by Lawn Fawn,
along with the star from Hero Arts Snowflake Shapes cling set.

I hope you are all enjoying the season,
