Rustic Chalkboard Christmas Card

My wonderful sister was the speaker for the Women's Christmas Celebration at her church recently. She shared her path to faith in God in a talk titled "Joy Peace Love".  Even though I know her story I was still moved to tears many times as I thanked God for the blessing of my sister in my life!
The decorations were just so beautiful with rustic details of burlap and wood with greens and pine cones. A little sparkle too!

They used pretty chalkboards hanging from the ceiling to frame the stage.

On one of them was a quote that was very much like the quote on a Penny Black stamp that i love; it inspired me to make this card.

The wood background stamp is by MFT and the greens and pine cone are from Lawn Fawn's Deck the Halls set. For the main panel I white embossed the sentiment on white cardstock then blended on Hickory Smoke Distress Ink to get the chalkboard look.

My sister's life is a beautiful example of God's unfailing love as He saw her through many trials and heartache to bring her back to Him. Don't give up on praying for your loved ones; I prayed for my sister for over 20 years before she renewed her faith in Jesus. God hears you!

Lawn Fawn Holiday Week - Joyful Wishes!

I'm back with another card featured over on the Lawn Fawn blog. If you've missed any of the Fawny Holiday Week posts, hurry over there for some amazing inspiration and to enter for a chance to win some Lawn Fawn goodies!

This card was so much fun to make using the Trim the Trim tree die as a stencil mask!
I filled in the space with the solid circle shapes from Let's Bokeh with different shades of green ink.
Then I stamped the red dots as ornaments.

While the mask was still covering the card I used Delicata gold ink to stamp and clear emboss the garland from Trim the Tree. After removing the mask I stamped the Winter Scripty Sayings sentiment with the same gold ink and clear embossed it as well. I die cut this panel with a Stitched Rectangle Stackables die and layered it with a Scalloped Rectangle die cut from dark green cardstock. The smallest Puffy Star Stackables die cut crowns the tree!

"Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.
God will make this happen, for He who calls you is faithful"
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

Lawn Fawn Holiday Week - Let it Snow!

I'm so happy to take part in Lawn Fawn's "We Wish You a Very Fawny Holiday Week"!

Be sure to visit the Lawn Fawn Blog all week for awesome inspiration from their amazing Design Team along with the Lawnscaping Challenges Design Team and my buddies at Lawn Fawn HQ! There is a giveaway at the Lawn Fawn blog each day too so be sure to comment there for a chance to win a stamp set of your choice!

Here's my card that is featured over there today!

I started with the large Stitched Circle Tag, die cut from Beachside paper. Then I die cut 2 strips of Forest Border and die cut them again with the Stitched Circle Tag to give them the stitched detail on the edges. I colored the trees with Copic markers and added Clear Wink of Stella.

I stamped Snowy Backdrops in Versamark ink on a kraft panel die cut with a Stitched Rectangle Stackables die, then white embossed. The snowflakes on the tag (from Toboggan Together) are also white embossed.

I embossed the Winter Scripty Sayings sentiment by first inking the stamp with Versamark ink, then inking with Lawn Fawn Peacock ink. The Versamark ink keeps the image wet long enough to add clear embossing powder and heat set.

"The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness and self-control."
Galatians 5:22-23

Welcoming our new Granddaughter!

We finished out the month of October with a beautiful sweet treat! Our precious granddaughter, Eliana Grace entered the world at 10:27 am and immediately stole our hearts!

I had her all to myself for over an hour while mommy rested and daddy got something to eat. Such a precious time; she was awake the whole time taking in everything!

I am so happy that I saved the beautiful Girls' Paperie papers all these years so I could make this pretty banner for Eliana's nursery! I used Lawn Fawn's Stitched Party Banners and Louie's ABCs along with Strawberry Polka paper from Let's Polka Mon Amie. The banner was finished with an assortment of ribbons and lace tied between the banners.

they are a reward from Him"

Christmas Cards 2015 {only the beginning}

So I started on my Christmas cards yesterday and I'm pretty proud of myself! Usually I procrastinate until Thanksgiving before getting started. This year I did a little buying of new Christmas stamps and dies and it really inspired me to get a jump on things!

Today I'm sharing two cards made using new Hero Arts products!

For this card I used the new Clearly Kelly set "Kelly's Noel". I gold embossed the tree, sentiment and dove. The border design was randomly stamped using the beautiful inks from the October "My Monthly Hero" kit. Clean and simple with no frills!

I love how this card turned out! I will probably never be able to replicate it as I just started stamping the wreath with no pre-planning. It's a miracle that it worked!
I used the Build a Wreath by Lia set along with the Joy Stamp + Cut set. For the stamping I used the October "My Monthly Hero" inks along with Lawn Fawn Doe ink.

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week- New Coordinating Dies for Favorite Sets

Yay, I have a couple cards featured over on the Lawn Fawn blog today. It's the last day of October Inspiration Week so if you haven't visited the blog hurry over today before 5 pm EDT and leave a comment on each blog post to enter to win the awesome giveaways!

I'm so glad that Lawn Fawn continues to add coordinating dies for my favorite stamp sets. Today I'm sharing a Winter Fox card and a Turkey Day card.

I thought I'd give the sweet Winter Fox an update by using the Winter Alpaca sentiment. I white embossed the little snowflake from Winter Alpaca on the mug too!

I love blue and orange together, it goes way back to an art project I did in 5th grade.
Anyhoo, I thought a light watercolor wash would be a pretty backdrop for the turkey and a Small Stitched Leaves border. I used Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers and Wild Honey to color the leaves.

Raccoon Birthday Card

My grandson, Julian turns 6 this month so a special birthday card was a necessity. What's more special than a cute raccoon who just happens to be the newest member of Lawn Fawn's Party Animals! I also used lots of Lawn Fawn ink and the Let's Bokeh stamp set!

Six candles for a sixth birthday! These puffy candle stickers have been in my crafty stash since the Reagan administration but they were perfect for the inside of the card. I'm so glad they have survived multiple stash purges over the years.

You're the "Gratest"!

My hubby appreciates a good pun and a funny card. I made this for him because he's awesome!

The background is Distress ink blending using a stencil. I used Lawn Fawn stamps from Best Pun Ever and Critters on the Farm along with the Stitched Circle and Stitched Rectangle Stackables dies.

I'm hoping to start making Christmas cards soon. I'm stocking up on Lawn Fawn and Hero Arts holiday goodies (even the new Hero Arts kit, yay) so stay tuned, holiday projects are on the way!

A Birthday Card for a Super Boy!

My adorable grandson Uriah celebrated his 4th birthday last month with a fun trip to Lego Land! He's my super little boy who loves super heroes so I made a super birthday card using Lawn Fawn stamps and dies!

I did the fun watercolor ink "smooshing"  with Tumbled Glass Distress ink to create a sky for the background.

I colored the super hero owl from Critters in Costume with Copics. My sentiment is Clark's ABCs and Quinn's ABCs + dies. Spring Showers dies made the cute stitched clouds.

Today's thought is simple and truthful. It's from 1 John 4:19.
"We love Him because He first loved us."

Happy World Cardmaking Day!

I have been coloring lots of fun images using new Lawn Fawn stamps, they are so new that I can't show you yet. So for World Cardmaking Day 2015 I thought I would share a card I made for a friend's birthday using a favorite Hero Arts stamp!

I used paper and stickers from Simple Stories Summer Vibes collection to create a fun, festive and super quick birthday card!

I stamped Birthday Blackboard with Lawn Fawn Peacock ink.
