New Computer, New Blog

I was using my old decrepit computer as my last excuse for not starting a blog. Well I ran out of excuses yesterday when my wonderful son bought his parents a new computer so we would stop whining about our old one. He then spent the next 6 hours setting it up and installing software. I love that young man.
For those of you who may have wandered here and don't know me yet, let me introduce myself. I'm Nancy, I have been married to my sweet husband, Al for over 31 years and I have two wonderful sons.

Ben's Home!

Ben is 22 and just recently completed his enlistment in the Marine Corps

I'm the caretaker of a furry pack of 3 dogs, Digby a large rescued Golden Retriever, Bruno a rescued Chihuahua mix and little Tia, a rescued 4 pound Chihuahua.

Digby and the Doodlebugs
This is a totally un-posed spontaneous moment that will never happen again.

I am a card making, rubber stamp enthusiast with an appreciation for art and dance.
I work for an architect and recently began teaching rubber stamp classes at my local stamp store, Stamp Fever.

August 28, 2009 class cards
These are the card samples from my first class, Christmas in August. All the cards use Alcohol ink techniques.

Also I recently developed an appreciation and love of gardening, (photos to follow) never cared much for digging in the dirt before but now I can't wait for my days home from work so I can get my hands dirty.
I chose the name Happy Heart Studio because I do my best creating when my heart is content and focused on Jesus. I like to say I have inky fingers and a happy heart!
I have been blessed to know Jesus as my Savior since early childhood, in fact I can't remember a time when I didn't believe in Jesus. There have been struggles along the way but my faith in God and His love for me has been consistent for the past half century.
I hope to use this venue to post my art whether hand made cards, collage art or photography. I'll hopefully share about my family, especially those stories from the past that still make me laugh. But mostly I will endeavor to share the love of God with anyone who stops by.
I hope you will come back to visit and let me know when you've been here by leaving a comment.
