Fawny Holiday Week with Lawn Fawn

I always have so much fun joining with the wonderful Lawn Fawn crew for Fawny Holiday Week! Be sure to visit the Lawn Fawn blog and leave a comment on everyday this week for a chance to win a stamp set and 6x6 Perfectly Plaid Christmas or Winter paper pad!

I thought it would be fun to stretch my thinking and make some cards for our friends who celebrate Hanukkah this year! I used the Lawn Fawn Love You a Latke set to make three totally different cards.

For this card I stamped Let's Bokeh's various sized solid dots in coordinating colors.  The silver embossed greetings go nicely with the stars cut from glitter paper.

Milo's ABCs worked really well stamped in Lawn Fawn's bright and happy ink colors as the candles!

For this card I added the cute squirrels from Cheery Christmas for a fun and lighthearted card design.

I hope you'll check out Lawn Fawn's posts all this week to enter each of the daily giveaways.

Thanks so much for visiting, please leave a comment so i know you were here :)

Fairy Friends Birthday Pop-up Card

Today is my little Ellie's first birthday! Since I don't observe halloween I'm glad that October 31st now has a special meaning for me! Ellie is growing up to be a beautiful little girl with a curious and happy disposition; always smiling and exploring. She has brought so much joy into our lives, I am one blessed grammy!

I wanted to make a magical keepsake style card to mark her first birthday. I used lots of Lawn Fawn products to craft this handmade card!

For the cover I kept it simple with just one little fairy! I die cut the label from Small Stitched Envelope, then blended on some Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress ink. Finley's ABCs were die cut from sparkly paper from my stash and Sally's ABCs were white heat-embossed. The label was attached to a colorful piece of wide ribbon to hold the pop-up card closed.

I stamped most of the images with Copic-friendly black ink and colored with Copic markers. The solid images with stamped with colorful ink.
To create the pop-up scene I die cut all the landscape pieces from watercolor paper and added vibrant colors of ink with a mini ink blending tool.

Products used:
Lawn Fawn: Finley's ABCs; Sally's ABCs; Small Stitched Envelope (label); Dotted Rectangle Stackables, Fairy Friends, Scalloped Rectangles, Frosty Fairy Friends, Forest Border, Stitched Mountain Borders, Stitched Hillside Pop-up, Grassy Hillside Borders, Stitched Hillside Borders, Jalapeno Ink, Sugarplum Ink, Noble Fir, Black Licorice, Sugarplum cardstock
Other Supplies:
Ranger- Mini Ink Blending Tool, Distress Inks- Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron, Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet, Squeezed Lemonade, Tumbled Glass

Hero Hostess Alumni Blog Hop

Welcome to the Hero Arts Hostess Hop, featuring fabulous stamps from the new 2016 release and winter catalog!

A wonderful thing happened in 2008 when I discovered an amazing group of crafters in the Hero Arts Flickr group! I found the most supportive, most encouraging group of women who nurtured my interest in paper crafting and welcomed me into their community! Hero Arts supported this group with contests, inspiration and with the Hero Hostesses. We were there to encourage all the members of the group. answer questions, comment and share our creativity! It was a brilliant idea and was very successful! I'm so blessed to be a part of this sisterhood and I am thankful to all the awesome people at Hero Arts for us giving the opportunity!

We always love it when we get the chance to do another blog hop together; it's a virtual reunion every time! Hero Arts assembled some pretty talented women and I'm always so awe-struck by what is shared during our hops. I hope you will join us in our Hero Hostess Alumni blog hop.

You should have arrived via Sarah Moerman's blog. She's an awesomely talented, tough act to follow, always thinking outside the box! If you missed any of the stops today you can start HERE at the Hero Arts Blog. And be sure to check in there tomorrow for more hostess creativity!

I love all the beautiful images in the Vintage Wishes set!  They are perfect for creating pretty vignettes for cards!

I added lots of Wink of Stella to the trees and deer.

This card features the Coffee Cup Stamp + Die Combo. The sentiments are great for tucking a coffee gift card inside!

I just loved stamping these fun coffee cups in bright colors!

Hero Arts will be awarding 4 prizes ($25 shopping spree to Hero Arts online shop) from randomly drawn comments. For a chance to win, simply comment on ANY of the stops along the hop on Oct. 24th and 25th, including each day’s ending post at the Hero Club Blog. (comment by Sunday Oct 30 by 11:59pm PT for a chance to win) If you find a broken link, you'll find a master list of the hop links at the Hero Arts Blog.

Rainbow Floral Birthday Card

Well it looks like it's been exactly 2 months since my last post; yikes! If anyone is still out there following me I have a pretty birthday card to share today. It's featured on the Lawn Fawn blog today as part of our Hop Week with Xyron!

I'm pretty sure I got the idea for this card design on Pinterest, where else, right?

I'll list all the Lawn Fawn ink colors below with links to find them. I stamped all the flower images from Penelope's Blossoms and die cut them with the coordinating dies. After die cutting 2 Meadow Borders, one from Noble Fir cardstock, one from white cardstock; I inked the white one with Distress ink in Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn. I also inked the white card base with some Squeezed Lemonade. I die cut the Happy Birthday Border from Black Licorice cardstock then ran it and all the floral pieces through the Xyron 1.5" Sticker Maker. This adds adhesive to the back making it so easy to attach to my card. I used a black gel pen to dot the flower centers.

Baby Card with Lawn Fawn Little Bundle

My sister asked me to make a baby card for a friend and I had just been so inspired by THIS card by Yainea on the Lawn Fawn blog. I love how she used the birch trees from Joy to the Woods to build a pretty woodland scene. Since my sister asked for a woodland themed baby card it seemed perfect!

Here's my version using Little Bundle, Mom + Me, Gleeful Gardens and Hello Baby in addition to Joy to the Woods.

Lawn Fawn Plan On It Stamps and my Planners!

I am enjoying using my planner to keep all my work and personal tasks on track. I usually just jot everything down with different colors of ink but I am learning to embrace the decorated page!

Lawn Fawn has a new planner set called, Plan On It, and it's got lots of great little icons and images to create lists. I love color so I use all the fun Lawn Fawn inks and the pretty patterned papers from Perfectly Plaid and Let's Polka in the Meadow to pretty up my planner pages. Not too much, though, I still need my planner to be functional and uncluttered. It's a tool after all, and as I'm not as young as I used to be I need all the help I can get to remember what I need to do!

I use Pilot Frixion Highlighters and Ball Point Pens in my planner because they are so colorful and they can be erased. I use one Plum Paper Planner for work and personal use. I also use a notebook style planner as a prayer journal and a small Webster's Pages Color Crush planner with monthly pages (which I designed for myself) to carry with me to jot appointments and to keep notes and ideas.

Plum Paper Planner and WP Color Crush teal striped personal planner.

I'm not sure how consistent I will be with all the extra stamped images like Donut Worry and Quinn's ABCs, but I will definitely use all the Plan On It stamps to customize my daily columns.

Here's a little peek at each of my other planners, journals and notebooks:

I find pretty spiral notebooks on Amazon to use for keeping notes of my daily Bible reading. I try to be a little creative when writing the days of the week!

I use a 3-ring 9 x 7 binder (I found this one at Target) as my Prayer Notebook. I created a pocket in the front to keep notes and prayer requests. The dividers are for Everyday Prayers like Praise and Thanksgiving, Prayer Requests, my family - anything I pray about on a daily basis. Then I have the Weekly Focus sections that include tabs for Missions and Missionaries, Social Issues, Government, Co-workers-Neighbors-Acquaintances, Ministries at my church which include prayer for the pastor and all the workers.

This is my Webster's Pages personal planner that I carry in my purse to jot down appointments, notes, ideas and to do lists. I also have a section for contacts (an old fashioned address book). I created the monthly pages in Excel along with the custom striped note pages. I used my "nancy" Perfectly Plaid paper to create extra dividers. The custom pages are die cut using a Hero Arts Planner Page Die Cut

So I guess it's never too late to get organized!

Lawn Fawn Inspiration and Release Week: Perfectly Plaid Paper Collection

I really love the new Perfectly Plaid papers! They are all so full of color and happiness I want to use them on everything! Lawn Fawn is introducing them today on their blog so you will want to go there for all the great Design Team ideas and of course, to enter the giveaway over there.

I had this idea in my head ever since I saw the coordinating dies for Rooting for You; a neat little row of plaid carrots!

I used the Nadia and Nicole patterns from the Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper pack for the smaller scale to die cut my carrots. The carrot tops are die cut from Noble Fir cardstock and Grasshopper Polka from the Petite Paper Pack of Let's Polka in the Meadow. The sentiment is Violet's ABCs white embossed on Fake Tan cardstock, then die cut with one of the new Everyday Sentiment Banners dies.  I cut the largest Stitched Rectangle Frame from a sheet of 12x12 Nadia paper.

All of the new Lawn Fawn products will be available this Thursday, February 18th!
The wait is almost over! You will find them at your favorite local store, online shop or at lawnfawn.com

I love this pretty blue and white plaid that is named after me! I used it to make a cute Fairy Friends Tote Bag:

Card for a Caring Cause - Lasting Hearts Card Drive

It is so wonderful to be a part of this kind and caring community of crafters. I am grateful to be able to contribute to the Lasting Hearts Fundraiser and Card Drive to share a handmade card and a copy of a special book with those dealing with the loss a baby to miscarriage. I know the loss and emotional pain that accompanies losing the promise of a dearly anticipated baby.

I plan to make a set of these simple cards in various color combinations to send.

Here is a link to learn more about Lasting Hearts started by Kimberly Saldana. You can read her story that prompted her to help others. It's through our own pool of pain that we can best show compassion and love for others. I hope you will consider sending cards and/or donating to this caring cause.
