Summer Themed Cards

They are finally finished...why does it take me weeks to create what I can teach others to do in just over 2 hours? There is a nice soft couch in an office somewhere with my name on it...and I thought paper crafting was supposed to be my therapy!

Anyhoo, onward and upward....here they are:

The focus of this class is mixing and matching patterned papers. I used papers from the Summer Fresh Collection by Simple Stories.

All supplies are linked below.
For my buddies here in the OC you can find all of these products at Stamp Fever
For those not enjoying our lovely breeze today, please click on the thumbnail and it will take to Simon Says Stamp, the premier online craft store where you can conveniently add the item to your cart or wish list.

I recently became a Simon Says Stamp Affiliate
so your clicks at Happy Heart Studio are much appreciated.

There is such a wealth of wisdom in AW Tozer's writings. My first experience with Tozer came about 35 years ago when I read "The Pursuit of God".  Next to the Bible, this book has had a great impact on my faith and has opened my eyes to the wonderful relationship that God desires to have with each of us.

Happy Heart Wisdom #2

Need some encouragement today? Here's some straight from the heart of God....

In my quiet time I like to pray directly from God's Word and 2 Thessalonians has many passages that are perfect for praying through. Here's a prayer list from 2 Thess 3:1-5.

Pray:
  • that the Lord's message will spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes
  • that God's people will be rescued from wicked and evil people
  • for confidence in the Lord to do what pleases Him
  • for a full understanding of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ
  • to stand firm and keep a strong grip on Biblical truth (from 2 Thess 2:15)

There is a good reason why many people have referred to the Bible as the Instruction Manual for Life. The answers to all of life's questions are found here...I pray you will find your answers today.

I create my artsy background's for hhw by sorting through my scrap basket. I save stamped images that don't turn out quite right to scan and play with using PicMonkey.com. Today's artwork started as a watercolor stamped Floral Brocade; a Hero Arts stamp #CG187. It was stamped with Tumbled Glass Distress ink.
I uploaded the scanned image to PicMonkey and had some fun playing with all the wonderful tools. They are adding more all the time. This is the best place I have found for photo editing and it's free!

Please feel free to use hhw images as long as you link back to my original post. Thanks.

have a blessed week sweet blogging buddies,

Preview Day

I've got a little preview of the products I'll be working with this week. My sister asked me to make 10 birthday cards for her women's Bible Study group....yippee I get to make girly cards! And hopefully this week I'll be making a special birthday card for my sweet hubby; his big day is later this month.

So here's the stamps I've selected for this week's card making fest:

InLinkz.com
Some Penny Black with a bit of Technique Tuesday in the mix. Fingers crossed that I get them all done.

I've been doing a little designing on the ol' PC lately, lot's of fun stuff for Stamp Fever. It's also time for some family fun, our annual Fourth of July Burger Bash.

We are all working in secret to come up with a burger that will wow everyone. One of our best recent offerings was our Margarita Burger complete with a Tequila spiked glaze. Of course Al made his famous watermelon margaritas to go with them!

Hope you all have a wonderful week,

Flashback Friday 24.0

Just a really quick post as I'm cutting it pretty close on this one but I just had to link up my first masculine cards for the challenge at Flashback Friday. I made these cards in March of 2009; the first one is a birthday card I made for my son who was serving in Iraq at the time. It's been around the world and back again.
The second card I made for my dad and it features a photo of him when he was 10 years old.

My son will be taking his dad and I to breakfast on Father's Day...and I'll be missing my dad.
