There is still time to get in on the Blog Candy to Celebrate the Grand Opening of Stamp Fever. You don't have to live in our area or even in this country to enter. We just want to get the word out that there is a really great rubber stamp store with wonderful classes and wonderful customers and cheerful people. Click the link above to take you to the original post.
I taught a really fun class today, the very first one in the new location! This group of ladies really know how to have a great time and weren't afraid to get a bit inky either. Here they are showing off their new cards......
This was my second time teaching this layered emboss resist technique, with a little Distress Ink watercoloring too. The first time was way back in February on a truly stormy, rainy day. I had a full class in the old store and there wasn't hardly any room to move.....when the door opened and in walked a group of women to do some shopping. It was really tight quarters at that point, but like all stamp crafters we were having too much fun to worry about it. Anyway, these ladies in the photo were the rain soaked shoppers who really liked the cards everyone was making. It took 6 months to get them all together again but here they are with their own set of cards. Left to right they are: Kim, Anne, Jane, Leslie, Sondra, Kim, Karen and Myra. Thank you ladies for an absolutely wonderful day!
Now for the fun giveaway.....I've been playing with THIS set lately......
And I find myself with an extra set of lovely birds and roses. So I am going to give the extra set to the lucky person who can answer a little puzzler..........
The house in the photo below is in my neighborhood. It was featured in a movie in 2000.
Leave me a comment with your guess and you will be entered to receive the 2 Birds Cling set and some fun little extras. I'll be monitoring the comments for a while so take a guess, or maybe look through your collection of DVDs. Have fun!

ReplyDeleteNancy, it sure looks like these ladies had a wonderful time in the first ever class at the new store! With you teaching, it could only have been a success! Love your cards and the way you used the roses for the background! I won't try to answer the the puzzler for two reasons; I own this cling set already and I have NO IDEA what movie it could be! :) Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWowzers! So loving your gracious looking bird and roses cards! Truly elegant! So fun that the shoppers from that day made it to your class, hope they can make it to the GO too! I already have this set but I am still really curious about the movie title...hmmmm...DH is such a movie buff and we are still figuring it out! lol.
ReplyDeleteOh shoot, I'm late for this one!
ReplyDeleteIt's Big Momma's House (in Old Town Orange) The movie starred Martin Lawrence.
Did you know I'm having a give-away on my blog as WELL? Yep, it ends tonight and it's a crossword puzzle that has to do with art and music. I'm giving away a Grungeboard necklace I made last week for CCC #8.
That first class in February was so much fun! I'm glad the ladies who came in to shop didn't mind us in their way :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I think the movie is Big Momma's House
Your cards are gorgeous Nancy! I love how you use that set :)
ReplyDeleteThe cards look great. I wish I could have been there. We are trying to get a lot done before school starts. I plan to enter the card contest at Stamp Fever and bring my daughter to one of the upcoming classes. Your blog is always inspiring and was a big reason for me starting my blog. Thanks for checking me out.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I didn't know the movie but I recognized the house. I love all the houses in that area of Orange.
Nancy your class looks like it was a blast- all the ladies look mighty happy and your cards are just fabulous- love those flowers!
ReplyDeleteI have no clue about the house so I'll just go along with what everyone else says and say "Big Mama's House".
The class looks like it was a success! All the ladies are smiling. :) I guess the answer is Big Mama's House, but I never saw the entire movie. Love your cards Nancy, so pretty.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a FAB class- and look at all of your happy students! Love your cards today. You are making beautiful creations with that rose stamp! Don't know what movie that house is from but I can't wait to find out. :) HUGS!
