Get Well Soon

Just a quick card share today! I combined my favorite Wide Stripes Background from Simon Says Stamp with Lawn Fawn new release sets to make a get well card.

Simon Says Stamp: Wide Stripes Background stamped with Unicorn White ink on kraft cardstock

After stamping and coloring the butterflies and leaves from Flutter By I spritzed the paper with Sheer Shimmer Spritz by Imagine Crafts. I let it dry before die cutting the images.
I cut out the center of the frame of Copic colored frame and layered it over a second frame die cut from Vanilla Let's Polka Mon Amie 6x6 paper stamped with the sentiment.

Thanks so much for visiting please leave a comment so I know you were here :)

Color Inspiration from Happy Heart Studio

I found a great tutorial for creating a custom color palette in PicMonkey at Creative Cain Cabin and thought I'd give it a try. I love PicMonkey, it's what I use to edit all my photos and create my watermarks. I had so much fun playing with color palettes. I decided to create a custom palette for a couple of my recent cards.

I originally designed these cards as Lawn Fawn samples for display in the Notions booth at CHA. It's no secret I love coloring Lawn Fawn images and the Gleeful Gardens and Baked with Love sets just about made me giddy to color! I used Copics to color these but you could use anything you like. Hopefully you'll get some color ideas from these palettes.

Let me know what you think. I might make this a monthly feature here so I'd love to read your comments and suggestions. There's a few things that need to be tweaked and perfected with the layout of the palette to make them more uniform but for now this works.

Lawn Fawn and Simon Says Stamp Co-Challenge on Flickr

My sweet friend, Barb Engler and I have been cooking up a little fun over on Flickr and I'm so happy that today's the day to share it! Barb is the Admin for the Simon Says Stamp Flickr group and she runs a very popular challenge. Since I work for Lawn Fawn and am the moderator for our group we thought it might be fun to sponsor a challenge together. So there you have it, The Flickr Co-Challenge!

Barb and I met in a Flickr group many years ago, it's a great way to connect with other crafters, get inspired and share some encouragement. We hope you will find some wonderful crafty friends, and lasting friendships too.

Here's the link to the Lawn Fawn discussion thread to get you up to speed on this fun adventure:

The theme is "Get Crafty with Kraft" so get out your kraft cardstock and join us!

I created a card using a brand new Lawn Fawn sentiment set Scripty Sayings and our fabulous new Dye Ink Pads. The flower stamps are a fun Simon Says Stamp set called Favorite Flowers.

I just love the look of white embossing on kraft cardstock.

I die cut my kraft panel with Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables die. I used Lawn Fawn inks in Sunflower, Wild Rose, Freshly Cut Grass and Mermaid. I stamped the solid flowers and leaves and let the ink dry. When these inks dry the images are wonderfully smooth with nice crisp edges. Next I white embossed the swirls and fussy cut the flowers and leaves. To add a little more depth I sponged on more ink around edges of the flowers with an ink blending tool.

I hope you'll join in on the fun and oh, did I mention, there will be prizes for randomly chosen participants! Head on over to Flickr and get the whole scoop!

Big thanks to Barb for doing all the work to make this happen.

Here are the brand new Hero Arts goodies I was lucky to play with:

I'm sure I'll need this card for one of my grandsons; they are always making me proud!

I had so much fun coloring this cute little pup!

This card uses emboss-resist with watercolor on the Triangle Background.

Okay, this guy is just too cute!

I colored and cut out an extra snout so I could pop it up with foam adhesive.

A quick card using the older Butterfly set along with the Congrats die. I left the inside blank so I can add the appropriate sentiment from the Congrats Stamp and Die set when I use it!
Since I'm not a sequins girl (I know, crazy huh?) I had fun stamping the cute little sequins from the set and adding some Silver Wink of Stella  to give them some sparkle!

And finally a fun little set of tags with those adorable Playful Animals paper-pieced with cute polka-dot patterned paper. I used up some ribbon scraps too!
(Lawn Fawn Freshly Cut Grass Line Dance 12x12 paper and Let's Polka, Mon Amie 6x6 paper).

Thanks for the visit, I'd love for you to leave a comment.

Your next stop on the Hero Arts Hostess Blog Hop is Linda’s blog. Enjoy!
