Bright Eyes Scrapbook Layout

When I first laid eyes on the new Lawn Fawn Sweater Weather paper collection I knew that I would make this layout. Sweater Weather is part of the new Fall/Winter release that will be available August 28th. I have the privilege of designing and making retailer sample cards for Lawn Fawn so I get to play with the new products early. Yay!

My adorable grandson, Uriah. has sparked a new interest in scrapbooking! These photos were the ones that caught the notice of the talent agency. Uriah had his first audition yesterday for a commercial, fingers crossed!

I love that the background paper, "Chill" has the look of a knit sweater!

I used Argyle Backdrops to create the colorful diamond border. The tags were stamped with the new Thank You Tags and die cut with Tag, You're It.

To get the look of the long banner I die cut the large Stitched Party Banner, cut it in half then arranged each piece behind the Large Stitched Journaling Card.

Cutest Crew Member at Trader Joe's

I got the June page done for Uriah's first year book! I just loved this series of photos from a trip to the Trader Joe's market where his daddy works. Uriah is ready for a management position in his cute Hawaiian shirt!

I used a mix of Lawn Fawn and Studio Calico paper, a computer generated title,
MME enamel dots and chipboard stickers from Echo Park.

I even did some machine stitching and it doesn't look bad, yay me!

I've just got July and August to complete and I will be finished with Uriah's first year. I plan to do a post with all 12 pages when I have them done.

So happy you visited with me today!

another scrapbook page, yay!

So I'm really behind in creating a pages for Uriah's album so I kicked myself into gear to get a couple done. I worked on May and June of 2012 this past weekend and I have May to share today.

I make 8x8 page layouts, I find this size gives me enough room for everything without being scary big. When Uriah was born I gave Andy and Kellie an 8x8 album with the first page inside. My plan is to do a page for each month of his first year and then to scrap the highlights like birthdays, holidays and fun events.

In May of 2012 Uriah was 8 months old when he attended a Mother's Day brunch at the Reagan Library. He looked so cute in his little suit and was a perfect little gentleman.

I used lots of different paper from Studio Calico and the Tag, You're It and Stitched Journaling Card Lawn Cuts dies by Lawn Fawn. The little black chevrons and stars are die cut with the Stitched Journaling Card dies. The 2 circle titles were computer generated and die cut with Circle Stackables Lawn Cuts.

I tucked a little journaling card behind the photo so Kellie can record memories from her first Mother's Day.

I just love that face! (The font is KG Skinny Latte: thank you Ivy!)

Hopefully I will have the page for June tomorrow, fingers crossed!

Thanks for visiting!

Uriah turns 2!

Hello, is anyone still out there? I'm clearing some cobwebs here after not posting for almost a month.

I will be able to share what has kept me busy later this week but today I have some fun birthday photos and a card share from Uriah's 2nd birthday Pirate Party!

My daughter in love, Kellie, is so amazing! She put together a fabulous day for all the pint sized guests and their parents complete with Pirate tattoos, a balloon artist, face painting, a {pirate ship}, photo cut out board, fabulous kid friendly food and lots of good ol' pirate atmosphere! Take a look around the courtyard area at their apartment complex that Kellie transformed into Pirates of Huntington Beach version 2.0:

a little pre-party story time with Pop Pop; official hashtag for the day; Kellie setting up for the party

table decorations; clever beverage cooler; pirate ship

Pirate Andy and his mer-chihuahua, Tia; Digby needed a little coaxing to pose for a photo

Pirate cupcakes; Pirate finger food including "salad on a stick"

Grammy made the signs; Uriah uses his balloon sword to dig for treasure; Pirate Loot!

 Lots of Pirate Fun!
clockwise from top: pirates singing happy birthday; Uriah and his buddy Floyd; the birthday boy gets a pirate 'stasche; waiting patiently for his balloon sword; enjoying his birthday cupcake with his pirate friend Lily.

Lawn Fawn: Stamps- Critters at the Dog Park; So Much to Say, Milo's ABCs; Lawn Cuts Dies- A Birdie Told Me, Critters at the Dog Park, Say Cheese; Peace Joy Love "gloria side B" paper
Clip Art images- map, ship and pirate hat; hand-drawn eye patch: My Mind's Eye "on the bright side" 6x6 paper

Happy 2nd Birthday Uriah!

I just adore this kid!
