Teaching a Class Today- Canvas Sampler

I decided to do something different for my class today. It's the last session of my Stamping 103 series and we are making a canvas sampler. Everyone chose a main color and their own stamps and inks to use to personalize their canvas. What I love about a project like this is that each of the nine vignettes would make a great focal image on a card or perfectly embellish a layout. It can hang on the wall to provide creative mojo.

I went for a summery look on my sample. I can't wait to see what the women in my class are going to create today!

Stamps used: Hero Arts-CL599 Picnic, CL596 Pattern Hearts & Flowers, CG405 Leaf and Floral Background, CG197 Old Letter, K5344 La Letter, AC005 Untitled Word Shadow; Technique Tuesday-Bring on the Sun.
Inks- Shaded Lilac, Seedless Preserves, Wild Honey Distress ink, Hero Hues Butter Bar Mid-tone Shadow ink.
Additional supplies: Copic Markers, Gelatos, Office Depot tags, variety of embellishments

Have a lovely Saturday everyone!

Gelatos on Canvas- Stamping 103 Class

It's all about Faber-Castell Gelatos in Happy Heart Studio lately. I've been designing samples for an upcoming class and I've finally finished them.

The card features Gelatos stamped on Sticky Back Canvas. They also provide the color on the flower die cuts.

Here's a close up look:

This technique involves coloring with Gelatos directly on the stamp, I think it looks wonderful on canvas!

The second sample is a 3x3 mini canvas, colored with Gelatos, then stamped. It's embellished with a Gelato colored butterfly and sentiment strips. There will be the option to add a magnet to the back to hang on a fridge or file cabinet.

Card Samples for Stamping 103 Session 2

My fingers are pretty inky but I had a great time making these card samples for my next class. I used a finger painting technique taught by Shari Carroll at the Hero Arts workshop at CHA.  It creates a really neat watercolor look. These cards are both very simple because it's all about getting inky for this class.

The first design is Sending You Love:

Stamps: Hero Arts-Newspaper Eiffel Tower CG417, Sending You Love clear set CL588

This next design will become a set of 3 Spring Dream Note Cards in a variety of colors:

Stamps: Hero Arts-Simple Frame S5324, Spring Dream K5540, Old Letter Writing S4878

New Class Series Starts This Week

The new series in Stamping Basics, Stamping 103, starts this Saturday and I'm so excited! I have a full class of 12 wonderful women joining me for the next 3 months to do some really fun projects.

In our first class we will be doing lots of stamping, dry embossing and die cutting and did I mention stamping?
These are the 2 cards we will be making this week:

This card is one I did the for Hero Hostess Blog Hop and it combines lots of trendy new stamps.

For this one I used new stamps with an older embossing folder and some fun inking techniques.

Stamps and supplies for these cards are in the inlinkz collection below.
