Friends at CHA Summer 2012

After we wrapped up the show on Thursday afternoon it was time to dismantle the booth and move everything back to Lawn Fawn's Mid West  HQ.

We all posed for photos at the end of Day 3.
We were exhausted but still smiling!

Kelly posed with each of the Fawnies.

The cutest couple...Mike and Kelly

Latrice Murphy....she is really tall and makes yummy cookies!

As I was doing Make n Takes on Day 2 I looked up and saw a familiar face
but it took me a bit to realize who it was.
How fun it was to meet and pose for a photo with Suzanne Czosek
I have been a fan of hers for years and I'm so glad she stopped for a visit!

Another photo with sweet Vicky!

After we finished taking our booth down we needed to wait for the union guys to come and take everything to the van for us. We passed the time by giving an assist to Sally Traidman and Lisa Spangler as they dismantled the Hero Arts booth. You know a photo op was inevitable!

Waiting for Mike to bring the car to us after a very long day.

Chari and Britta getting a bit silly.

A card collaboration with Chari. I stamped, colored and cut out the gingerbread house.
Chari made it look really good on this sweet card.

Kelly's parents are such genuinely wonderful people. No wonder Kelly is so amazing.
They welcomed us as family and made sure we were all very comfortable in their home.
Thank you so much for your hospitality, Raul and Gloria!

CHA Photos- 3

Once the booth was up and ready to go, then the real fun started!

Day One Team Photo: Latisha, Chari, Britta, me, Kelly and Mike

Vicky and Aris stopped by the booth for a fun photo.

We took very few photos on Day One. I don't think I looked up from the Make n Take table other than to take a quick break. Busy day in the Lawn Fawn booth!

I really enjoyed getting to meet all the wonderful people who sat down to do our Make n Take.

This is a card that Chari made with the "Check This Out" set. Our Make n Take was a bookmark based on this design. Unfortunately we didn't get a pic of the bookmark because it was really popular.

Time out for a photo of the Fawnies!

Kelly's mom Gloria took advantage of a short lull at the booth
to make the bookmark with Chari and Latisha.

 Still smiling!

Look who visited the booth....it's Kathy Racoosin.

Kelly's mom Gloria having fun with the photo op props.

Ready to go on Day 3!

That's all for today, more photos with friends and a wrap up tomorrow

Is it too late to post my pictures from CHA?

Boy, was I wiped out by my trip to Chicago. It was the most fun I've ever had working that hard. I'm so happy to be a part of the wonderful Lawn Fawn team of "Fawnies"!

I've finally edited all my photos to share with you today and tomorrow.

Today it's all about the booth which was constructed at Kelly's parents house.

Thursday July 12:  Mike begins cutting the frames that will become the booth panels

Rocking the construction old school with hammer and nails.

I did my best imitation of a carpentry apprentice....

.....at least the garage had chandeliers!

Chari arrived in time on Saturday to tape out the "picture frames" for product display.

While Kelly, Mike, Britta and I left for the convention center on Sunday to set up the booth and give a presentation, we left Chari behind to create some samples with the new stamps. Don't feel too bad for her, look at the craft room she got to use! I returned later in the afternoon to help plan the Make n Takes.

Britta and Mike pose with the panels

I'm holding up a panel while it's secured to the rest

The panels are up....great workmanship and teamwork paid off.
This is where we left the booth until Monday morning when the whole team came back.

Britta added the sweet whimsical details to the frames.

Chari and I were in charge of getting all the product and decoration up on the walls.
Here we are posing with our handiwork.

I think we broke Britta.

Although Kelly and Mike aren't in these photos they were busy helping with the booth while meeting with reps and making contacts before the show started. We left the hall and headed to Home Depot for last minute supplies then we were up late making a banner to finish the top of the booth. The lovely craft room on the third floor (which also doubled as Britta's room) was a fun place to be into the wee hours each night.

Kelly's making sample layouts, Chari is cutting papers for samples (she really was happy) and Britta (who snapped this pic) and I are making the banner that we swagged across the top of the booth as the perfect finishing touch.

That's all for today. Come by tomorrow for pictures from the show including all the special friends I met.

I had a 'fawnie' good time at CHA!

Although I didn't get out to see many of the fabulous new products at the show, I did get to meet with some of the sweetest people in the crafting world who visited my Make n Take table. I'll share just a few photos today to get started on my recap. Later this week I'll chronicle the building of the booth, decorating and some of the Fawnie fun I had with Kelly Marie, Mike, Chari and Britta. I'll also share some of the photos of special friends from blog-land.

Here's my sweet friend Kelly Marie and I getting ready to take off on the Virgin America flight to O'Hare.
I'm a bit skittish about flying so Kelly sat by me with Mike in the row behind. The adventure begins!

Kelly's parents are so wonderful and graciously made the Fawnie team feel right at home.

Sitting down to dinner on the patio: left to right Gloria, Kelly, Raul and Britta.

Once the booth was set up and ready for action, my job was presiding over the Make n Take table.
On Day One we made a pin using the  "Sweet Christmas" set.

This sweet little gingerbread house pin was a design collaboration by Chari and me.

See you tomorrow with more photos of my Chicago adventure.

Another Day Another Birthday Card

Just a quick post that I'm pre-scheduling for today....by now I should be finishing up working on the Lawn Fawn booth in Chicago. If you are going to be at CHA stop by booth #1117 and say hi!

Not quite sure how to describe this one....I'll call it eclectic and leave it at that!

Wishing you all a wonderful week! I hope to post some photos of the happenings later this week, see you then.

Birthday Card #2

Okay so that's not the most creative title, I'll do better next time.

So here is birthday card #2 using stamps by Jane's Doodles and Technique Tuesday, with a background assist from Hero Arts Envelope Pattern.

I have no idea what that cupcake would taste like, but those sure are some mighty bold colors!
I'm pretty sure I used Copics to color the cupcake...I neglected to write down my process on this one.
Did a bit of stamping inside the card:

It's Birthday Card Central in the Happy Heart

I have been working hard to get all the birthday cards done for my sister....she asked for 11 birthday cards for the summer Bible Study she is co-leading. I've got enough finished to get her started but I will have more to make when I return from Chicago.

Oh did I mention that I'm going to CHA....leaving in 2 days! I'll be traveling with Kelly and Mike of Lawn Fawn. We are going early to construct the booth from scratch....I'm taking my vitamins and flexing my painting muscles to get ready. If you will be in Chicago, stop by the Lawn Fawn booth and do a Make n Take with me!

So on to the birthday cards....I'll be sharing them over the next couple weeks while I'm gone. The first card is one I made for my darling hubby. It was completely inspired by THIS card by Jenny that was featured on Lawn Fawn's Fawny Flickr Friday. It totally made me smile and is perfect because my hubby is kind of famous for his "Tom Selleck" mustache.

Here's my guy with our littlest guy:

They both make me smile! The papers are from my scrap basket and are by K and Company, Basic Grey and Sassafras. Stamps are linked below.

I hope the weather is cooling off where you are.  It's starting to heat up here finally so at least I won't be missing the cool weather while I'm in the Mid-West for the next week and a half.
