"And a Partridge" Day Two

A little bit of pastel is in order for the pear tree on day 2 of my "And a Partridge" inspiration week.

I stamped the image once in Stick Candy ink on the circle die cut, then stamped it twice more on white scrap cardstock in Brown Sugar and Speckled Egg Jenni Bowlin inks. I cut out the trunk and bird and paper-pieced them. I colored in the pears with a Copic Sketch Marker in Lemon Yellow (Y13) and used some yellow Stickles on top.

Day One of "And a Partridge" Inspiration

Hi all, I can't believe it's been a week since my last post, where did this week go? I had 2 busy days of working with my favorite purveyors of stamping goodness and I have no idea what I did with the rest of the week. But yesterday was very productive, yay me!

Linda at Stamp Fever asked me to make a sample card using Lawn Fawn's new Christmas set "And a Partridge".  I wound up making 6 plus a tag and I will be using 3 of the designs in a class I'll be teaching on November 10.

I will share a card a day this week and hopefully you will be inspired to play with this fun little stamp set.
Here goes with Card #1:

Just a simple tag design with nothing fancier than a paper-pieced red bird. Lawn Fawn Fa La La 6x6 papers and some coordinating ink colors (Evergreen Bough and Festive Berries Distress ink) make the pear tree pop. I used my favorite Hero Arts background stamp- Newspaper Background stamped with Soft Pool ink to add some color and pattern to the white tag. 90-Minute Scramble #50

The Hero Arts Flickr group had another 90-minute scramble yesterday, hosted by Chris Millar. Her theme for the challenge was to use a black background for a card or project. Thanks so much for the brilliant theme, Chris...black is the perfect backdrop for a card. I've built a couple of cards on a black background and I've loved the result (HERE and HERE) so I plan to stock up on black card stock.

The black cs layer is clear embossed with the HA Music Background. The papers and butterfly sticker are from the "Waiting for Santa" collection kit by Webster's Pages. One of the benefits of cleaning out my creative space has been finding products that I didn't know I had. This collection has to be from 2 Christmases ago, but they are beautiful and I intend to use them on my cards this year.
